The FutureEverything festival brought people together to discover, share and experience new ideas for the future. Pioneering the practice of city-wide ‘festival as laboratory’ it combined a large scale cultural event – encompassing art, music and discussion – with new technology, novel research methods and playful social experiments. It was named by The Guardian as one of the top ten ideas festivals in the world.
I joined the company in 2013 to manage the volunteer programme and in 2015 undertook a long-term role with the FutureEverything’s production working across the arts, conference and performance programmes. My duties included:
⬩ Contributing towards the festival programming, project research and development
⬩ Financial development, including research and bid writing for UK, EU and international funds
⬩ Management of all logistics and partner negotiations for the hospitality and liaison of artists, speakers and VIP partners for both UK and international events
⬩ Overseeing the recruitment, management and induction of key freelance staff and volunteers
⬩ Liaison and relationship development with partners and funders
⬩ Finance and budget management for UK and international projects
⬩ Development of performance, commission and partner contracts
⬩ Full production support and management for conferences, exhibitions and performances including on site set up, delivery and pre-production administration.
